A Myhill-Nerode theorem for automata with advice

چکیده
Consider an extension of the classical model of finite automata operating on finite strings in which the machine simultaneously reads a fixed advice tape — an infinite string A. A deterministic finite-string automaton with advice A is like a deterministic finite-string automaton, except that at step n the next state depends on the current state, the nth symbol of the input w ∈ Σ∗, and the nth symbol of A ∈ Γω . The automaton halts once all of w has been read and accepts w if and only if it is in a final state (in the nonterminating model of Section 4, the automaton reads the rest of the advice tape and accepts according to a Muller condition). We now give a formal definition.

Myhill-Nerode Fuzzy Congruences Corresponding to a General Fuzzy Automata
Myhill-Nerode Theorem is regarded as a basic theorem in the theories of languages and automata and is used to prove the equivalence between automata and their languages. The significance of this theorem has stimulated researchers to develop that on different automata thus leading to optimizing computational models. In this article, we aim at developing the concept of congruence in general fuzzy...
متن کاملMyhill-Nerode Theorem for Recognizable Tree Series Revisited
In this contribution the Myhill-Nerode congruence relation on tree series is reviewed and a more detailed analysis of its properties is presented. It is shown that, if a tree series is deterministically recognizable over a zero-divisor free and commutative semiring, then the Myhill-Nerode congruence relation has finite index. By [Borchardt: Myhill-Nerode Theorem for Recognizable Tree Series. LN...
متن کاملThe Myhill-Nerode Theorem Based on Regular Expressions
There are many proofs of the Myhill-Nerode theorem using automata. In this library we give a proof entirely based on regular expressions, since regularity of languages can be conveniently defined using regular expressions (it is more painful in HOL to define regularity in terms of automata). We prove the first direction of the MyhillNerode theorem by solving equational systems that involve regu...
متن کاملKleene Algebra Completeness
This paper gives a new presentation of Kozen’s proof of Kleene algebra completeness featured in his article A completeness theorem for Kleene algebras and the algebra of regular events. A few new variants are introduced, shortening the proof. Specifically, we directly construct an ε-free automaton to prove an equivalent to Kleene’s representation theorem (implementing Glushkov’s instead of Thom...
متن کاملA Formalisation of Finite Automata Using Hereditarily Finite Sets
Hereditarily finite (HF) set theory provides a standard universe of sets, but with no infinite sets. Its utility is demonstrated through a formalisation of the theory of regular languages and finite automata, including the Myhill-Nerode theorem and Brzozowski’s minimisation algorithm. The states of an automaton are HF sets, possibly constructed by product, sum, powerset and similar operations.
